Why Delaware Couples Prefer Worsell Manor for Their Wedding Celebrations
You’ve pictured your ceremony under open sky, surrounded by gardens and natural beauty. But choosing the right garden venue means looking beyond pretty backdrops. You need a space that handles unpredictable weather, accommodates your guest list comfortably, and flows seamlessly into your reception without logistical headaches.
At Worsell Manor, we give you four distinct outdoor ceremony sites across 50 acres, each set up to hold 200 guests with white padded chairs included. We also include a tent and backup generator with every wedding, so your garden ceremony happens rain or shine without last-minute scrambling.
What Brings Delaware Couples to Worsell Manor
Delaware couples tell us they want a venue that feels removed from everyday life but doesn’t require their guests to drive hours. They want rustic beauty without sacrificing modern comfort, and they want spaces that photograph well without needing extensive decoration.
Minutes From Delaware, Worlds Away From Ordinary
We’re located just across the state line in Maryland, 10 minutes from Middletown, Delaware. For couples and guests coming from Wilmington, Newark, or other Delaware communities, we’re an easy drive without feeling like you’re staying in town. You’re also within 1.5 hours of Philadelphia, Baltimore, Annapolis, and Washington DC, so destination guests from larger cities reach us easily.
Hotels are 10 minutes away for out of town guests. For couples who want to stay on site, the Manor House sleeps up to 16 guests in six bedrooms. We also have additional rental options nearby, including a Manor Home and Cottage.
Historic Property Dating Back to 1683
The property was established circa 1683, and George Washington was a historic visitor. The Manor House retains its colonial era character with original beams on the third floor, fireplaces in each room, and a brick floored sun porch overlooking farm views.
The Barn is an authentic, high beamed structure we’ve carefully restored with modern heating and cooling while preserving its historic charm. You get genuine historic architecture, not a reproduction, and modern amenities that keep your guests comfortable. The high vertical windows in the Manor House flood the space with natural light, and the Barn’s climate control means your reception stays comfortable whether you’re celebrating in May or October.

Working With Coordinators Shaina and Ashlee
We assign an on site venue manager to every wedding, and our preferred coordinators, Shaina and Ashlee, work with couples from booking through your wedding day. Delaware couples consistently mention them in reviews. Rachel highlighted her “seamless experience” with both coordinators, noting how kind and helpful the entire staff was. Patrick praised the flexibility and accessibility they provided, calling his celebration a “fairytale wedding.”
They know which ceremony site works best for different weather conditions, how to adjust timelines when things run long, and how to handle logistics so you’re not fielding vendor questions during your celebration.
